IB Lit and Lang Blog 7: Life is but a Netflix queue...
In Macbeth, Banquo has been the one character who has remained relatively the same through out the play. Banquo remained to believe in what's right, and saw through Macbeth's lies once he became king. Similarly, when the witches gave both him and Macbeth their prophecies, they didn't phase Banquo like it did to Macbeth. He saw through the witches' evil lies and didn't let them control him. But he still ended up dying for it. Macbeth betrayed him, but he still stayed true to himself in his dying moments. He made sure the murderers didn't hurt his son, he made sure Fleance knew to escape. Therefore, Banquo would recommend shows and movies that watch as the villains fail; shows and movies that watch the antagonist fall from grace and get what's coming to them.
